"Tomorrow, Tomorrow...

I love ya, Tomorrow...you're only a day away"

I'll be off to Disney soon for ESPN-The Weekend. It is going to be VERY cool, and I am both blessed and excited to be going.

A little while ago, Kasi and I were snuggling. I told her I'm going to miss her SO much.
She said, ''I might cry when you leave."
I said, "I hope not, because that would make me sad too. I will be back soon, I promise...and I'll send you pictures to Daddy's phone."

She stared straight at me and said, "and they BETTER look like YOU and not someone else".

LOL, she cracks me up. Not sure what she was referring to with that.

I have tons to do still to get ready to go. I promise a FULL Trip Report when I return. :)

Blessed

I woke up this morning to find Malia had made me a note.

This is the front:

and this is the back:

She said, "It's you getting on a plane to fly towards Disney and those are fireworks over the castle".

Can I just say how much I LOVE that my kids are OK that I am flying to Disney without them AGAIN? It will allow me to enjoy it so much more knowing that they aren't upset with me. I'm a very blessed, Mommy. :)

DISNEY WORLD and ESPN- The Weekend....here I come!

Wordless Wednesday-- SURPRISE!!

For my first Wordless Wednesday, I will utter a few words...
"August 2008 Surprise Disney Trip".

The kids thought we were spending the last week of summer in New Hampshire...little did they know. When we got to a rest area I pulled out, "The best candy bars they'll ever have". The photos will tell the story. Enjoy. It was perfect except Sierra couldn't join us because of Field Hockey.

Close your eyes...
SURPRISE!!

The itinerary each day was even a surprise. They opened the envelopes to find riddles I had written and they got to guess where we were going based on those clues...

Give a Day, Get a Disney Day

Disney is celebrating volunteerism with the "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" promotion.

We signed up for a Volunteer Opportunity in Hyannis, making Valentines goody bags for Senior Citizens.

Here's Shawn and I cutting the tissue paper for the goody bags:

My big helper watching closely to see what needed to be done.

Malia and Shawn working on the bags...

Steve and Jared wrapping the tissues and soap.

Kasi helping Daddy

Malia hard at work...

Shawn and I working on the Hershey kisses cellophane roses (these were tricky)...

Teamwork.

Malia helping Daddy get the job done.

Even though Malia and Kassia weren't eligible for the ticket from this opportunity (too young), they still helped the entire time. They loved being a part of making a difference for someone. So, in spite of the fact that they won't be rewarded with a Disney Park ticket...they received an intangible benefit that helps to make them better people. Isn't that what it's all about? Making a difference in the lives of others?! I'm proud that our family was able to help bring smiles to the faces of Seniors on Valentine's Day :)

Visit http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneyparks/en_US/WhatWillYouCelebrate/index?name=Give-A-Day-Get-A-Disney-Day for an opportunity near you :)

Future Disney Moms :)

Last night I was sitting at my computer listening to Malia and Kassia in the playroom. I had told them they had 10 more minutes before bed. They used to play school, art classes, Princesses, etc. This time, they were in there playing "Disney Moms Panel". "You be the person wanting to go and staying in the hotel and I'll be the person helping you have a fun time on your trip to Disney World". ♥

How cute is that?! Two future Disney Moms :)

When I was brushing their teeth I asked them which Resort they were staying at: "Beach Club", Kasi said. I asked her why (thinking she'd say the pool). She said, "Um...because the beds are comfy when I'm tired from walking all day". LOL. Cracks me up! Malia chimed in, "She told me she wanted to stay in the Beach Club for that Mom, but I told her the pool is a much better reason and she definitely should pick that place." Little travel agent already ;)

Never Too Late

Nineteen years ago, I was a student in a Pre-Med program. I had plans of becoming a Pediatrician, and was enjoying college. Life took a turn in a different direction, and I ended up having Sierra. At that point, I put my dreams on hold. Instead, I attended the Hotel Management program at UNLV. I thoroughly enjoyed working as a Hotel Manager, but the hours were not conducive to family life. I realized that my daughter, and my four other children that came after her, needed me home.

Kasi is heading to Kindergarten this upcoming Fall. It's high time I dust my dream off, and turn it into a beautiful reality. This morning, I ordered the Study Guide to help me prepare for the Entrance Exam for the Practical Nursing Program in Bourne. Then, this afternoon, I took the 2nd step in pursuing a my dream of working in the Medical field. I signed up for the test on March 6th. I hope I haven't forgotten everything I learned in High School 20 years ago!! Wow, that makes me feel really old!

With my Disney dream becoming a reality, I figure the stars must be aligned in my favor. ;) I plan to start with my LPN, and continue on to my RN. I'd love to work in the maternity ward, helping bring sweet new babies into the world. It's something I have known since I was a teenager...I was made to work in medicine and to help people. I know that as a nurse, I can use my compassion and understanding and really make a difference in peoples lives. In my spare time, I will continue helping people plan their Disney vacations...it is something that I know I will enjoy forever. :)

Remember, the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams...it's never too late to follow them...
